Ballet is usually associated with feminine qualities such as grace and elegance. An all-male ballet troupe is defying this tradition in a comedy show in Beijing.
The show, Men in Tutus, thrilled audience members at the Beijing Exhibition Theater on Sunday.
Founded in 1996, the dance company Les Ballets Eloelle has 15 ballets in its repertoire. Male dancers play both male and female roles, with some dressed in pink tutus. Their latest venture is brimming with classical and popular elements, fused with black humor.
Les Ballets Eloelle has toured several countries in the world including Australia, China, France, Italy, South Korea and Japan.
