The 2017 Volvo Cars Child Riding Safety Education Program, co-hosted with the United Nations' Decade of Action for Road Safety, was launched on Thursday in Beijing.
The event aims to introduce more thoroughly to young parents the correct specifications of child safety seats as well as knowledge about traffic safety for children.
This will be done through lively and interesting content modules, including packages on newborn, babies and children.
The program will be held in 16 maternal and child health centers throughout Beijing, Tianjin and Chongqing.
The third consecutive annual event, it aims to enhance passenger safety awareness for families with children.
It also aims to rectify bad behavior in cars and drive forward legislation on child passenger safety, through a range of family activities and related lectures, in order to create a safer and more harmonious riding environment for children.
Zhao Qin, vice-president of corporate communications of Volvo Car Group's Asia-Pacific region, together with executives from the Beijing Women's Federation and China Automotive Technology and Research Center, awarded Beijing Baodao HealthCare with the "Safety Education Promotion Base" authorization certificate along with a set of Volvo child safety seats.
