Original literature has led the children's book market as children's books have become the fast-growing and most vibrant segment of China's book market.
The children's book market saw 19.73-percent and 28.84-percent year-on-year growth in 2015 and 2016 respectively, said Li Xueqian, head of China Children's Press and Publication Group.
The sales volume of original literature for children accounts for 82.52 percent of the total book market for children, Li said.
The pursuit of both fun and philosophy has been a highlight in children's literature, said Feng Zhen, editor-in-chief of "Er Tong Wen Xue," or "Children's Literature."
Feng said that many articles in recent years have been rooted in traditional Chinese culture and have focused on the philosophy of life and responsibilities.
Original literature for children is not only helpful for boosting the domestic book market, but can also draw the attention of foreign publishers.
Since 2013, Chinese writers and publishers of children's books have participated in international exhibitions to promote their products.
