DUBAI - The United Arab Emirates (UAE) announced Wednesday that it will treat 100 people wounded by the suicide bombing in Mogadishu and sends medical supplies to Somali hospitals, the Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.

The state news agency said the Emirates Red Crescent has begun urgent arrangements for the speedy transfer of the wounded to the neighboring country of Kenya as required by their health conditions.

The UAE Red Crescent Society also announced that it will provide comprehensive care for 300 orphans who have lost their families in the last six months of suicide bombing.

The move is a "true expression" of the importance the UAE and its people attach to the current situation of Somalis, and their efforts to spare them the scourge of war and conflict, WAM reported.

Two bombings hit two crowded intersections in the heart of the Somali capital Mogadishu on Saturday, killing and wounding hundreds.
