The new head of the Organization Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China said the department would make more efforts to cultivate high-quality Party officials and effectively implement policies made by the central leadership.

Chen Xi made the remarks during the department's meeting on studying the report of the 19th CPC National Congress, Xinhua News Agency reported on Wednesday.

"We will make more efforts to cultivate officials with high-quality and professional knowledge. We will adopt more active, open and effective talent policies," he said, adding that the aim is to meet new requirements mentioned in the congress report.

Chen, 64, from Putian, Fujian province, is a new member of the CPC Central Committee Political Bureau and a member of the CPC Central Committee Secretariat. He was previously the deputy head in charge of routine work of the CPC Central Committee Organization Department.

Zhao Kezhi, the new Party chief of the Ministry of Public Security, said on Tuesday that no one has special privileges in China's police forces and people should just ignore those who ask for favors citing their connections with him.

Zhao, 63, former Party chief of Hebei province, made the remarks at a meeting of the ministry's Party officials, Xinhua News Agency reported on Wednesday.

Wang Dongfeng, former mayor and deputy Party chief of Tianjin, replaced Zhao as the Party chief of Hebei on Saturday, the CPC Central Committee announced.

The meeting on Tuesday was Zhao's first public appearance since taking on the new role. Guo Shengkun, Zhao's predecessor, became the new head of the Political and Legal Affairs Committee under the CPC Central Committee after he was elected to the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee on Oct 25.

Zhao said on Tuesday that he felt the heavy responsibility, and warned officials that he won't allow anyone to abuse their power to favor their families and relatives. Those who ask for advantages because of their connections with him would be ignored and snubbed.
