New York's Chinese community marked the 80th anniversary of the Nanjing Massacre at Chatham Square in Manhattan Chinatown on Wednesday. Representatives of more than 10 overseas Chinese associations, including the Fujian Consolidated Benevolent Association USA and the United Fujianese of America attended the commemorative ceremony.  The event also featured calligraphy that read "Our country holds state memorial ceremony for Nanjing Massacre to commemorate a national martyr." It was written by Li Zhaoyin, president of the American Chinese Calligrapher Association. "Today, the overseas Chinese community in New York gathered together to remember what happened during the Nanjing Massacre and call for world peace," said Zheng Shigang (to left of wreath), the president of the United Fujianese of America, which hosted the ceremony.
