5G国际标准 (5G guójì biāozhǔn) : 5G international standard

The Third Generation Partnership Project, the international organization that overseas cellular standards, ratified the first 5G international standard, Non-Standalone 5G New Radio, in Lisbon on Dec 19, six months ahead of schedule.
5G refers to fifth-generation mobile communication technology, which provides consumers with faster downloading speed and executes more tasks than 4G.
China launched research in 5G technology in 2015, with China Mobile taking the lead in the research and development of 5G NR. In fact, China played a key role in the development of the first 5G international standard.
The release of the 5G international standard for commercial use shows great progress has been made in the commercialization of 5G. The standalone version of 5G NR, complete with an end-to-end 5G system including the core, is expected to emerge around June next year.
In the next stage, telecom equipment manufacturers and suppliers will start developing 5G hardware according to the 5G international standard, indicating the "official" deployment of commercial 5G network.
China is now expected to expedite the industrialization process of 5G. According to initial estimates, China's 5G industry will produce about 16.9 trillion yuan ($2.57 trillion) worth of products and create 19.5 million jobs by 2030.
