Cosplay helps with personal growth
Twin brothers born in February 2000 in Qingdao, East China's Shandong province, have become famous among the city's cosplayers.
Huang Yuyang, the older one, and Huang Zhengyang both liked watching cartoons when they were little boys. And in the modern world of anime, comics and games, they are respectively called Eryuehong and Huahai.
The twins are in 12th grade at a vocational school in Qingdao. Besides studying, they spend most of their spare time on cosplay. They organized a cosplay club, which has more than 20 members doing cosplay, making costumes and props, and performing stage dramas.
In response to the suggestion that cosplay is not what a student should do, the twin brothers said they have learned a lot from cosplay, including do-it-yourself skills, teamwork and responsibility.
The twin brothers plan to carry on performing cosplay after graduating from high school. "People born in the 2000s are more ready to accept new things. People all want to be more charming, but the millennials may edge others out in new ideas and creativity," said Huang Yuyang.
