Thirty-six percent unmarried residents prefer long-term rentals, and 72.8 percent urban dwellers favor three-bedroom apartment, according to a report released by 58.com, an online marketplace for rental homes, on Thursday.

Based on 2,019 questionnaires and data provided by Anjuke, an online property information provider, the report said that space, community, location, and service are the most important factors when it comes to choosing home.

When asked about their opinion on space, 72.8 percent urban residents said three-bedroom apartments are the best. People living alone want 2.6 rooms per person. For the post-1990 generation, an independent working area is what they really want.

The report also found that people of different age have different demand for surrounding facilities. Post-60s hope there is a supermarket, hospital, or park nearby, while post-95s prefer 24-hour convenience stores. For post-90s, accessible gyms, and subway or bus stations within one kilometer would be perfect.

When it comes to vacation property, 60 percent people think a pleasant environment is important, and over 50 percent are more concerned about convenient transport. Besides, long-term rental homes are popular among over 36 percent unmarried people.
