GAZA - Israeli war planes on Saturday night bombarded and destroyed a tunnel underneath the borders between southeast Gaza Strip and Israel, Israeli and Palestinian sources said.
The Palestinian security sources said that Israeli war jets struck an open field above the tunnels close to the commercial crossing point of Kerem Shalom on the southeast Gaza Strip and Israel borders.
No injuries were reported, according to paramedics and eyewitnesses.
An Israeli army spokesman confirmed the reports on the targeting of the militants' infrastructure.
It said in a press statement that the Israeli air force targeted the militant infrastructure in the southeast Gaza Strip, holding the Hamas movement responsible for anything occurring inside or outside the Gaza Strip.
The Israeli media also reported that the Israeli side has officially notified the Palestinian Authority that the commercial crossing of Kerem Shalom will be closed Sunday for the commercial use of transporting goods until further notice.
