A month ago, five Siberian tiger cubs were born at the Zoological and Botanical Garden in Qiqihar, Northeast China's Heilongjiang province.
"Usually, Siberian tigers will give birth to two to four cubs at one time. It is rare to see healthy quintuplets," said Cao Tianhai, director of the Zoological Department.
The breeder has prepared abundant nutritious food for the tigers' mother so she will produce enough breast milk to nurse five babies, which include three males and two females.
"They grow very quickly and become stronger and stronger," said Cao. "It is expected that they will meet tourists at the end of January."
