Denmark celebrates Chinese Lunar New Year

China’s Jilin Province Art Troupe was invited to give a 10-day tour in Denmark from Jan 19 to 29 for the 2018 Happy Chinese New Year celebrations, which have been held 16 years in the country.
The tour covers Copenhagen, Kolding, Horsens and other major Danish cities, extending New Year greetings to Danish people with singing, dancing, magic shows, performances of traditional Chinese instruments.
Two intangible cultural heritage groups from Heilongjiang and Sichuan provinces will travel with the art troupe to Copenhagen and Helsingør.
Before the show begins, they will exhibit some Chinese traditional handicrafts, like fish skin paintings, tree bark paintings, paper-cuttings and painted lanterns.
On Jan 20, Jilin province's art troupe staged its first Happy Chinese New Year show at the Royal Conservatory of Copenhagen's concert hall. Meanwhile, the ceremony for Celebrating the 10th Anniversary of the Establishment of China-Denmark Strategic Partnership and Lighten Up Copenhagen was opened by the Chinese ambassador to Denmark and Danish officials.
