More than half of Chinese think the most important goal of making money is to support education for their children, the percentage of which ranks first in Asia according to a report by CITIC-Prudential Life Insurance Co.

Compared with other Asian countries, Chinese people cared most about future development of their children, though up to 88 percent showed worry about that subject, the report said.

CITIC-Prudential Life Insurance Co sampled over 4,600 interviewees aged from 25 to 55, in nine countries and regions of Asia, to investigate interpersonal relationships in the area.

According to the report, Chinese were more willing to invest in family-related issues, including children’s education and family trips.

They would also like to use an average of four hours a week to spend time with their parents, it said.

However, the Chinese intimacy index scored 54 in 2017, which means their sense of satisfaction from human relations only reached 54 percent of their expectations.

Chen Zhongde, assistant general manager of the company, said since insurance provides guarantees for people’s health, safety and life, it’s closely connected with human relations.

Such research could provide a reference point to the future development of its business, Chen said.
