Despite the launch of a nationwide campaign to crack down on harmful online cartoons with pornographic and violent content, netizens are still reporting similar problems on some small game websites.
Soft sexual content has been found in several games on websites including 7k7k and 4399, Xinhua News Agency reported.
Games with the keywords "treatment", "surgery" and "kiss" are easily found under the sections "Girls", "Leisure" and "Seeing a doctor", the report said.
These kinds of small games have already been removed from major websites but a large number can still be found on other websites, even among the lists of game recommendations, according to Xinhua.
Players of small games under "Seeing a doctor" can experience skin grafting, cesarean section and appendectomy in the game. One game the Xinhua reporter played asked users to administer anesthetic to a pregnant woman and use a scalpel during an operation.
In another game, a baby jumps out of the belly of a pregnant woman after a player performs an operation. The game's interface states "This game is suitable for players above 8", the report said.
Similar games are still on game website 17yy, the reporter found.
Small game apps with similar content can also be found on the iPhone App Store by searching for the keywords "doctor" and "doing surgery".
On Monday, Beijing began a monthlong campaign to root out low-taste online video games, according to an earlier Xinhua report.
This month, the Ministry of Public Security and the State Office for Eliminating Pornography and Illegal Publications urged a crackdown on such material nationwide.
