China's first officially authorized data asset assessment center was launched in Inner Mongolia autonomous region on Saturday as local government beefs up efforts in developing its big data industries.
Major businesses of the center include verification and evaluation of data assets, which will help to explore the value of data resources and bolster big data transactions.
The assessment center will be operated by Horinger New Area, an economic transformation area in Hohhot where big data industries are top development priorities, and Youedata, a leading big data company in the field.
"The establishment of the new center will fill in the gaps of data asset assessment in Inner Mongolia and will play an important role in the regional economic development," said Feng Yuzhen, acting mayor of Hohhot.
The region was listed as one of the country's big data development zones in 2016 and Hohhot has attracted an array of tech giants including Baidu Inc and JD.com as well as the country's three major telecom operators.
