KUNMING -- Police in southwest China's Yunnan Province cracked four major drug cases this month, seizing drugs weighing about 200 kilograms.
Police in Canglin City busted three drug gangs within a week and captured four suspects. On March 12, police stopped a man on a motorcycle near the border inspection station and found more than 17 kilograms of heroin in his suitcase.
On March 14, police received a report and caught a woman carrying more than 21 kilograms of methamphetamine.
On March 16, police caught two men transporting drugs through the border, and seized more than 101 kilograms of methamphetamine from their vehicle.
Earlier this month, police in Longling County in Baoshan City cracked another drug case, seizing more than 57 kilograms of methamphetamine, and caught three suspects, including two from Myanmar.
All the cases are under further investigation.
Yunnan is a major front in the battle against drug crime, as it borders the notorious Golden Triangle, known for its rampant narcotics production and trafficking.
