PYONGYANG - President of the International Olympic Committee Thomas Bach arrived here on Thursday on a three-day visit to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).

He was received at the airport by DPRK Sports Minister Kim Il Guk and officials from the DPRK National Olympic Committee.

Bach's schedule in DPRK has not been made known, but local officials say the visit is purely linked with sports cooperation.

Bach has previously praised the DPRK and South Korea for their efforts at detente and peace-making during the PyeongChang Winter Olympics last month.
