Are we ready for self-driving cars?

chinadaily.com.cn | Updated: 2018-04-02 09:56

Editor's note: The tragic accident, where an Uber self-driving car hit and killed a woman crossing the street in Arizona, US, has aroused widespread concerns about safety. Beijing has granted tech giant Baidu Inc a license to test self-driving cars on city streets. Are we really ready for autonomous vehicles?

Richard (US)

Uncertainty around the safety of self-driving cars will definitely slow overall progress in this field. Autonomous cars are way safer than (those driven by) humans. There are far more fatalities on the roads caused by drivers, yet no one is banning cars.
