Chinese parents want children's tickets based on age, not height

Xinhua | Updated: 2018-04-05 17:47

BEIJING - About 67.1 percent of respondents to a China Youth Daily survey agreed that the criteria for children's tickets should be changed to age.

The survey of 1,969 Chinese parents found that 56.7 percent of them dislike the current criteria used in most Chinese public places, the height of the kids.

Some 36.7 percent of respondents have argued with ticket officers about the height of their kids when purchasing child's tickets.

Age is an objective criteria while height can be subjective sometimes, said some of the respondents of the survey.

The family genes, nutrition and even hairstyle and shoes can make a difference to height, said the parents in the survey.
