The Foreign Ministry and China's Embassy in Syria on Tuesday alerted Chinese citizens living in Syria to follow the security situation closely and be fully prepared for any emergency. They also remind Chinese citizens to stay away from any military installations and crowds.
The ministry and embassy have repeatedly warned Chinese citizens not to travel to Syria because of the security situation.
In order to help Chinese citizens in Syria in an emergency, the ministry and embassy have asked all Chinese citizens living in Syria to report and register their personal information to the embassy so that it can provide help to them if necessary.
Those who have not reported their personal information to the embassy can also contact China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs by dialing 12308. Phone numbers for the ministry's global consular protection and emergency desk is +86-10-12308 and +86-10-59913991.
There are currently 83 Chinese citizens living in Syria.
Ma Xuliang, counselor of the China's embassy in Syria, said that so far there has not been any reported casualty or death of Chinese citizens in Syria since the military strikes, according to the embassy's website.
