China supports Kyrgyzstan's assuming the rotating presidency after the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Qingdao Summit, and is ready to work to ensure the success of the country in hosting the summit next year, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi said.

Wang made the remarks when meeting with his Kyrgyz counterpart Erlan Abdyldaev on Wednesday in Beijing. Abdyldaev attended the SCO foreign ministers' meeting in Beijing on Tuesday.

Wang said strategic relations between two countries have made great progress, and China firmly supports the new Kyrgyz government's efforts in leading the nation to gear up the country's development and buildup.

China is ready to boost the synergy of the two countries' development strategies and expand cooperation in various fields including trade, investment and energy within the framework of co-building the Belt and Road, Wang said.

Abdyldaev said Kyrgyzstan looks forward to deepening its strategic partnership with China, and is satisfied with progress made by both sides in co-building the Belt and Road.

The new Kyrgyz government is ready to deepen cooperation including politics, economy, culture and security, and jointly fight against the "three evil forces" of terrorism, separatism and extremism, he said.

Also, Kyrgyzstan will effectively work with China for the success of the SCO Qingdao Summit, he added.
