Pups drop pounds
A pair of podgy pooches have lost over 48kg together after being fat shamed by a stranger who accused their owner of animal abuse because of the pets' seal-like size.
Rescue hounds Hank and Kimmy, both 14, were so overweight that they struggled with basic activities, with Hank unable to walk more than 0.2 miles and Kimmy incapable of scratching herself.
Their owner Caitlin Brink, 24, from Montgomery, Alabama, US, realized how drastically overweight her beagles were when a stranger accused of animal abuse.
Then Catlin altered their diets, after realizing she was killing them with her kindness. She fed them from half a cup of dry food a day with treats to a raw diet that consisted of 80% meat, 10% bone, 5% liver and 5% secreting organs. She said the podgy pooches can spur each other on to continue losing weight by playing and beckoning one another to keep going further on walks.
