3 killed in IS suicide attack on Libya's election commission

TRIPOLI - Three security personnel were killed and several others injured in an IS suicide attack Wednesday on the Libya's Higher Commission of Elections in central Tripoli.

"A number of IS suicide bombers broke into the headquarters of the commission in Ghout Al-Sha'al area in central Tripoli and opened fire as they crossed the main gate towards the staff offices," an official of the interior ministry told Xinhua.

"The attack killed three members of the central security forces assigned to protect the headquarters, as an initial death toll," the official added, saying the attackers blew themselves up after being surrounded by backup security forces.
