Chief justice, wife injured in stabbing

The chief justice of a district court in Shaanxi province, surnamed Su, was injured along with his wife in a stabbing attack on Thursday, according to the Xianyang government.
Police detained a male suspect at the scene, but a suspected accomplice escaped.
The suspect, surnamed Dong, is director of the executive bureau of Weicheng District People’s Court. He reports to Su.
Su and his wife were being treated in hospital and their injuries were not life-threatening, the local government said.
Police said the assault took place around 6 am in a residential community on Xianyang’s Zhonghua Road.
Su was elected as chief justice on March 19, 2015, by the Weicheng people’s congress.
