The event is the latest segment of the annual World Photographers Focusing on China, a cultural communication program launched in 1999. For 20 years, more than 100 photographers from over 50 countries and regions have been invited to witness and record the city’s development.
This year’s event pays homage to the history of the Silk Road and the Maritime Silk Road, while giving a nod to the capital’s growing internationalization, openness and vigor.
The event also highlights the use of photographic technology allowing panoramic images that will showcase bird’s-eye views of the city.
Selected works will be placed on display in downtown areas.
