Louis Tussauds House of Wax
Louis Tussauds House of Wax in Great Yarmouth, England, known as "the Worst Wax Work Museum", achieved cult status with thousands of visitors. That's because none of the wax models there looked like the people they were supposed to represent.
However, the wax work museum, run for 58 years, was closed in 2013 as its owners Jane and Peter Hayes, in their 80s, wanted to retire from the struggling attraction.
For half a century, the couple have been tourism icons in their small town. But due to bad media coverage and rising costs, the museum went into dire straits with ever-declining incomes. After its closure, the entire collection was snapped up by an overseas buyer.
