Putin's state visit to China
On Sept 3, 2015, President Xi Jinping met with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in Beijing, where Xi thanked Russia for its active support in the commemorations of the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War and thanked Russia for sending a military group to participate in the military parade.
Leaders of the two countries attended each other's activities marking the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II in 2017.
During the trip, China and Russia signed nearly 30 cooperation documents including a series of energy deals. Among the deals, Russia's second-biggest gas producer Novatek signed a framework agreement for China's Silk Road Fund to obtain a 9.9 percent stake in its Yamal liquefied natural gas project.
