Xi’an hosts the No 2 special court because it's the starting point of the ancient Silk Road and the city is witnessing rising economic activity with the Middle East in recent years, he said at a news conference.
The two courts will deal with influentially international commercial cases, such as those in which litigants choose the Chinese top court to handle their disputes involving over 300 million yuan ($45.3 million), Liu Guixiang, who sits on the top court’s Judicial Committee, said Thursday.
"The two courts will help resolve disputes in line with litigants' opinions, whether they choose mediation, arbitration or trial," he said, adding that they will ensure the provided legal services will be transparent, efficient, low-cost and professional.
