A contest on green and innovative technology and strategy for Chinese enterprises to advocate innovation and green development kicked off in Beijing on July 31, and the finals will be held from Aug 22 to 24 in Jieshou county, Fuyang in East China's Anhui province.

"We hope to discover and cultivate a number of outstanding projects and teams through the contest, and we will help promote new technologies and strategies discovered in the contest if they are beneficial for green and innovative development," said Yang Dongjing, secretary-general with the contest organization committee. The Jieshou county and the information center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology are sponsoring the contest.

It calls for participants, either individuals or enterprises, to design technological or strategic solutions to address needs rising from Jieshou's development towards a green and sustainable industrial county. They can submit their designs online for evaluation by top experts, and then selected contestants will be invited to the county for the finals.

The aim is to gather solutions to problems related to enterprise innovation and green development. The organizers said in a press release that it seeks to inspire those in industry to resolve problems that will pave the way for green and innovative development, under the context of Chinese authorities' increasing awareness of environment protection and a green economy.

The contest also aims to serve as a platform for small and medium-sized enterprises and inventors to exchange and display their ideas, seek collaboration and incubate new projects.
