As of last month, Qiannan prefecture has developed a rosa roxburgh plantation area of more than 758,000 mu (50,533 hectares), producing more than 50,000 tons of the fruit annually. And the prefecture has registered two rosa roxburgh industrial development zones, with total annual industrial production output value of more than 2.5 billion yuan.
Wu hopes investment from outside the prefecture will help build Qiannan prefecture into a breeding, plantation, processing and trading center for the fruit in the future.
Jiang Fan, a researcher with Guizhou Normal University, said rosa roxburgh is rich in vitamins and is good for people's health.
More than 120 government officials and business executives from Guizhou and Guangdong provinces attended the fair.
