PARIS - French Sports Minister Laura Flessel on Tuesday announced she was quitting President Emmanuel Macron's government, the second resignation in seven days.
"I decided to resign for personal reasons," Flessel said in a statement, adding that she would be focusing on past commitments, notably international cooperation.
Flessel's resignation came as Macron is due to name former Ecology Minister Nicolas Hulot's successor. Hulot announced his surprise decision to quit the government last Tuesday, blaming the lack of results in the climate fight and energy transition.
