A concept biofuel vehicle, the first exhibit of the 2018 China International Import Expo, arrived in Shanghai on Sept 6 following the completion of custom clearances.
Called Biofore, the concept vehicle is worth 30,000 euros ($34,890) and weighs 1,110 kg. It will be displayed at the Finnish national pavilion in the National Exhibition and Convention Center from Nov 5 to 10.
Designed by UPM, a Finnish forest industry company, Biofore was created using renewable materials and innovations from the forest industry.
By utilizing renewable fuel, the car emits 80 percent less greenhouse gases compared with those that run on fossil fuel.
"UPM has been working on bringing environmentally friendly products to the markets for the past 20 years development in China. We can use the CIIE platform to propose our innovative and sustainable development concept," said Ma Yuanyuan, a representative of UPM.
