A former official was arrested on suspicion of bribery and corruption in Yangzhou, East China's Jiangsu province, on Tuesday, after being reported by his son's ex-girlfriend, according to the provincial procuratorate.
In February, Huang Daolong, former director of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Yangzhou, was reported by Wang Yanru, his son's ex-girlfriend, for having abundant assets from unexplained sources, including real estate, jewelry and luxury cars.
Huang, 66, retired in 2012. His son, Huang Yu, was the former head of the procurement department under the Yangzhou Public Resources Trading Center.
Wang said that she dated the son for seven years, until she found that he had been married to another woman during their relationship. She also showed evidence of physical abuse, Beijing News reported.
Wang said that she did not accept apologies or compensation from the Huangs, and she just hoped that they would be punished by law.
She also said that she will seek help from psychologists and will not start a new relationship until the case is closed.
The case is still under investigation by the city procuratorate of Yangzhou.
