Hairawn muhly, or pink muhlygrass, has attracted many visitors to Nanjing and Jurong of East China’s Jiangsu province with its purple-pink clouds of fall flowers.

The hedge-like plant, about 30–90 centimeters tall, has been planted in some scenic spots in the two cities. Its feathery, cloudlike flowers generally turn purple-pink from mid-September to mid-November in China.
