Peruvian president attends Chinese National Day event in Peru

A cultural event was held at the Chinese embassy in Peru on Thursday to celebrate the 69th birthday of the People's Republic of China.
Hosted by Jia Guide, Chinese ambassador in Peru, the event was attended by Peruvian President Martin Vizcarra, Vice-President Mercedes Araoz, and some other 600 Peruvian and Chinese officials, diplomats, and Chinese people working and studying in Peru.
In addition to musical performances, the event also featured displays of images taken in countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative to mark the fifth anniversary of the initiative, which was proposed by President Xi Jinping in 2013. They capture moments of enhanced people-to-people exchanges and communications among participating countries.
