Former Inner Mongolia official expelled from Party

Bai Xiangqun, former vice-chairman of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region government, was expelled from the Party and public office, according to a statement posted on the website of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission.

Bai was put under investigation over alleged "serious violation of discipline and law" in April. Authorities have found that he has seriously violated the Party's disciplines and laws, taking bribes and making use of his position to seek benefits for others.

Authorities have decided to expel him from the Party and public office, confiscate his illegal assets and transfer him to the procuratorate for prosecution.
