I think the world should be free of war, hunger, terrorism and racism - that was the theme of a speech I made at Harvard University on July 12, titled "Make our World a Better Place".

Visiting one of the best universities in the world was like a dream come true, and making a speech in English just made the occasion more surreal.

My trip to the United States was sponsored by VipJr, part of the online education company iTutorGroup, after I won a spoken English contest organized by the company.

I have been taking online English classes from native speakers on the VipJr platform for more than a year. I have two or three lessons a week, each lasting about 25 minutes.

The classes are interesting and rewarding.

Online English education is convenient and saves time, and I only have to click an app on my iPad to greet teachers from English-speaking countries.

It is not easy for me to practice English with native speakers in Guilin, so talking to the teachers at VipJr has really improved my spoken English as well as my grades at school.

I have become more confident about expressing my views in English, and my conversations have developed from simple greetings to discussions about current affairs and even news.

Talking to teachers from English-speaking countries has really helped me overcome my nervousness at speaking in another language in public.

My father accompanied me to the United States since it was my first time there, but I did not feel like it was a foreign country because I could communicate with the local people quite well.

Sometimes, my father came to me for help with buying things or to ask directions.

I like studying English because it is an important tool to learn about the latest technology and get information about important things happening in the world.

I am 10 years old, and people often say I am more mature than I look.

I am not sure what I will do in the future, but I am certain that good proficiency in English will help me land a good job.
