Along the Balkan Mountains, to the Black Sea, an ongoing exhibition at Beijing's Taimiao (Imperial Ancestral Temple), features dozens of paintings by Chinese and Bulgarian artists. It runs through Jan 13, 2019 and is part of a "Meeting along the Silk Road" series of exhibitions which focus on cultural exchanges between China and Belt and Road nations.

The exhibition, which is part of a series initiated by the Central Academy of Fine Arts and Taimiao, offers a glimpse into the latest explorations with various mediums and styles by artists of the two countries.

Also, there are paintings done by Chinese artists who traveled to Bulgaria earlier this year, providing an Eastern perspective on Bulgarian landscapes and folk customs.
