S. Korean president replaces chief of staff, senior secretaries

SEOUL - South Korean President Moon Jae-in on Tuesday replaced his chief of staff and two senior secretaries as he entered the third year of his five-year term.

Noh Young-min, South Korean ambassador to China, was named as presidential chief of staff to replace Im Jong-seok, according to the Blue House.

Noh arrived in Seoul earlier in the day to serve as a top aide to President Moon, according to local media.

The three-term lawmaker of the ruling Democratic Party led Moon's election camp in the 2017 presidential election. Moon took office in May of the year.

Kang Gi-jung, a three-term lawmaker of the Democratic Party, was named as senior presidential secretary for political affairs, while Yoon Do-han, a journalist from local broadcaster MBC, was nominated as senior press secretary.
