Building collapses after explosion in The Hague

THE HAGUE, Jan. 27 -- A building has partly collapsed in The Hague after an explosion, with people maybe under the rubble, the fire brigade reports on Sunday.

Emergency services are on site at the building in the Jan van der Heijdenstraat in the Laakkwartier district. The front of the entire building has been blown away by the explosion.

The cause of the explosion is unclear, but local media report about a possible gas explosion. It is yet unknown how many people were present in the houses and whether there are people under the rubble. Rescuers are still searching for possible victims.
