Yang Lan: Breaking gender stereotypes key to empowering women

TV host and founder of the Sun Media Group Yang Lan is a household name in China, one who has never been afraid of challenging herself and exploring new possibilities in her career.

She is an ambassador for the Inspiring Women initiative, a campaign brought to China by the British Council, which aims to tackle gender stereotyping and inspire women to pursue their dreams, whatever they may be.

In an interview with China Daily’s website, Yang Lan shares her views on deconstructing harmful gender norms, how education and lifelong learning empowers women, as well as how the perception of China overseas has changed over the last few decades.
