The United States chip giant Intel Corp is stepping up cooperation with Chinese companies to deliver tailor-made personal computer applications for students, designers, and gaming enthusiasts in the country.

Wang Zhicong, vice-president of sales and marketing group at Intel, said China's PC market is getting increasingly upgraded and demands more customized products to meet the diverging requirements of different groups.

Though new hardware forms continue popping up, PC still plays an important part in people's daily lives and work by functioning as a strong personal computing platform, Wang said.

He selected six user groups, including students, designers, content creators, and cyber anchors, that have growing demand for more tailor-made functions of PCs to boost efficiency.

Currently, Intel is partnering with hardware makers to develop customized PCs for 185 million Chinese students between kindergarten and 12th grade. The products will come with better eye-protection features and designed to help students better deal with their homework. Intel said surveys show that 84 percent of parents of these students support the integration of PCs in school learning.

It also helps cultivate local innovation, such as developing more products specifically made to facilitate professional as well as amateur designers and content creators with sophisticated work.
