Master musician gives new sound to ancient 'ruan'

A member of the China National Orchestra for about four decades, Feng Mantian is known for experimenting with his ruan, a Chinese plucked-string instrument with a history of over 2,000 years. He uses contemporary musical elements such as rock and jazz and also composes original pieces to bring a new sound to the ancient instrument.
