Premier Li Keqiang arrived in Brussels, Belgium, on Monday to attend the 21st China-EU leaders' meeting.

During his visit, Li will meet with European Council President Donald Tusk and European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker before attending an agreement-signing ceremony and meeting journalists.

China and Europe are two important markets in the world and each other's vital cooperative partners, Li said upon arrival. He said he hopes to exchange views with EU leaders on issues of common concern, and promote a substantial progress in the China-EU bilateral investment treaty negotiations.

The Premier said China supports the European integration process in the hope of a united and prosperous EU and firmly backs the key role the continent plays in the international affairs. China would like to work with the regional bloc to safeguard multilateralism and free trade, and promote China-EU relations to a new high level, he added.
