两不愁三保障 (liǎngbùchóu sānbǎozhàng): Two no worries and three guarantees

President Xi Jinping emphasized the "two no worries and three guarantees" in poverty alleviation work during his inspection tour of Chongqing last week.

The "two no worries and three guarantees" are the main objectives of the country's poverty alleviation relocation project. The "two no worries" refer to achieving the goal of poverty alleviation so that those who have been living in poverty no longer have to worry about food and clothing.

And the "three guarantees" refer to achieving the goal of guaranteeing compulsory education, basic medical treatment and housing security.

President Xi stressed that China's poverty alleviation campaign has entered a crucial phase, and it should have the high attention of all regions and all departments.

Local authorities should take active measures to solve the prominent problems related to the "two no worries and three guarantees" and make efforts to expedite poverty alleviation work, in order to win the poverty elimination battle and make new contributions to building a moderately well-off society in an all-around way.
