Dyson reveals new smart vacuum cleaner

British technology company Dyson held a media briefing at its technology lab in Shanghai on Thursday to introduce its new generation of smart cordless vacuum cleaner.

The new generation of the Dyson V11 Absolute, which made its debut in the Chinese market as well as the world in March, has a smart mode to adjust work pattern and speed to automatically adapt to different materials, such as wooden floors and carpets, according to its product engineers.

The device, which boasts a 40 percent increase in suction power over the previous generation, is also equipped with a more powerful battery that allows it to operate continuously for 60 minutes in power-saving mode.

Kevin Grant, Dyson's head of floorcare, said that the company attaches great importance to the Chinese market and is hence eager to deepen its understanding of Chinese consumers and the problems they face.

"That's the reason we built a typical Chinese-style home environment in the technology lab in Shanghai – we wanted to conduct a full range of product testing to ensure that the products can truly solve their practical problems in household cleaning and help enhance their sense of happiness in daily life," he said.
