Police in Central China's Hunan province said a man suspected of murdering five people in five days was found dead in the province's Wugang city after he committed suicide by taking poison, according to Phoenix News on Tuesday.
Zhang Juqian, 56, allegedly killed a villager and four others in Dongkou county in Shaoyang on May 21 and Saturday, respectively.
He is suspected of killing the first victim due to a personal dispute and then ran to a site near Donglin Reservoir and killed two elderly villagers and two children of a family surnamed Liu, who once had a conflict with him. The children were 5 and 7 years old.
Local residents said Zhang was born and lived in the county. Many described him as a bully.
Zhang had been sent to prison four times on charges of theft and hooliganism.
