Bolivian electoral authority unveils calendar for general elections

LA PAZ -- Bolivia's Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE) presented on Tuesday the electoral calendar for general elections in October, in which nine parties will participate.

According to the calendar, voters' registration will take place from May 31 to July 14, and the enrollment of candidates to both chambers of Congress will take place on July 19. The publication of these names will follow on Aug 11.

Disqualification of candidates for deputies and senators will take place from Aug 17 to Oct 5, and replacement of these candidates will be made from Aug 12 to Sept 5.

The general elections will be held on Oct 20, and the vote count at the provincial level will take place on Oct 20-27. The publication of the results for each province will take place from Oct 28 to Nov 1.

The vote count at the national level will take place on Nov 1, and the publication of national results will take place on Nov 4-9.

Nine parties are authorized to participate in the electoral process, including the Movement for Socialism-Political Instrument for the Sovereignty of the Peoples (MAS-IPSP) led by President Evo Morales.
