Journalists from 18 countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative had their understanding of China enhanced as a result of their training in the China Global Media Fellowship program which concluded on Friday.

The program, jointly launched by China Daily, the University of International Business and Economics in Beijing and Shanghai International Studies University, was concluded at a ceremony in Shanghai on Friday.
"The days we spent together gave us an opportunity to gain a wider panoramic view of the global picture and China's place and mission in it, in the same way as we gained an unforgettable view of your hospitable city from the top of the Shanghai Tower just several days ago," said Natalia Amaglobeli from Georgia, editor-in-chief of English-language news outlet Agenda.ge.
Taj Al Deen AL Radi Al Dous, director of quality management at AI Ain News in the United Arab Emirates, said: "The China Global Media Fellowship program is essential to enhance our understanding of China, as well as providing a significant opportunity to learn and exchange experiences with colleagues from different backgrounds.

Qu Yingpu, deputy editor-in-chief of China Daily, said: "The fellowship program let journalists from the 18 countries have an in-depth understanding of the new era of China, and at the same time, provided opportunities for them to have deep communication that would help the development and understanding among these countries and benefits all mankind."
Jiang Feng, Party secretary of Shanghai International Studies University, said that China not only endeavors to make its own people live happily, but also wants to make contributions to the world. "It's my dream that we can work together with friends from different countries to maintain peace in the world."
Ding Wenli, assistant to the president of the University of International Business and Economics, said: "The success of the second fellowship program is not only an important measure in building the Belt and Road Initiative but also to encourage and help the international media to have a comprehensive understanding of China."
