"China is patient. It is one of its great strengths," said British scholar Martin Jacques at the International Forum for Open Global Economy. "China's rise has been remarkably peaceful in a way that the equivalent rise of the US, the UK, France, Germany and Japan, was not. They all fought many wars of expansion: China has not."
